My house ..



This is where most of the filming at as we will be filming the drawing scene here also the dream scene we will be doing at my house as i live closest to school and we are able to come here .



Zoe .



This is Zoe , Zoe is going to be playing the main character the one which is after ana and is  being controlled by hannah ..


Ana ..



This is Ana , Ana is going to be the possessed girl we think  Ana will be good for this character as audiences first impressions will decepitivly  be of innocence.

We got a picture of this field as we liked the idea of the trees in the background . but i think we will be using the other field as we need the longer grass

Story Boarding .......

As a group we discussed what we wanted in each scene and starting to do a story board this story board has been drawn by Zoe and Hannah as they are the artists of the group. We have had to start thinking about camera angles , camera movements , Shot lengths , Whether we want special effects in certain parts of the scene , what type of editing we will use. We needed to do this so we knew what we needed to do we also spoke about what type of sound we will use in the filming where it will be diegetic or non diegetic ? whether we will use sound atoll as the absence  adds a complete different context and adds tension and this is the type of thing we are looking for !

Our Final Name !!

Our final name is Puppet Strings!! we decide this because we thought this fitted in with our film the best as our film is about being possessed by someone drawing what is going to happen. The connotes that someone is being controlled by someone which links in to our film as Hannah is drawing whats happening so Hannah is the puppeteer .

last lesson

so last lesson myself and Ana went round and took pictures of the setting we want to film in. we took a picture of a school field over near the W block we chose this field because of it has slightly long grass which would be good to film the scene of Zoe crouching down on the grass . we then went to take a picture of the main school field this would be the field that we do most of our filming on for the main body of the film this is because the film is big and set at the back of the field is some trees which will look good in the filming we then took pictures of Ana and Zoe as they are going to be in the film this will help us create a small character profile on them to be able to show That they are best for there character. Then when I  went home I took a picture of the outside of my house I was going to take a picture of the inside rooms that we were going to use but my house was busy so will do it at a quieter time. We also need to take a picture of Hannah as she will also be in the film but this was unable to happen in this lesson as Hannah was on a school trip . We attempted to upload the photo that we took but Mr Oswick misplaced the lead for the camera that we used so will need to do this next lesson . We were also discussing final name for our film.

    Our preliminary Task






    I really enjoyed filming this peice as i think our group works very well together and got the work done all though i do not think that this peice of work is our best and did not turn out how i thought it would although we got everything in it that we needed to i thought that we could of made a better story line or edited more into it for example speacial effects such as music although i am confident that our main peice of filming will be much better that this as we have lots more time to film and will do alot more takes on it also spend more time on editing !

    genres of films we like and what we are going to doo

    The type of genres we like are fantasy and horror we have had some ideas which are :

    • girl running in a field towards the camera but cant see her face (Zoe)
    • girl wakes up in bed we find out this is a dream for her (Ana)
    • an artist is drawing the whole thing that is happening (Hannah)
    • girl keeps popping up in the girls dream
    • keep flashing back to Hannah drawing whats going on
    • the girl from the dreams becomes real life we see her standing in the corner of the room while the other girl is asleep she wakes up and see the girl then think she is still in a dream but when she realises it is not she is very frightened
    • end of film a suspense cut off
    The place we are going to film at are my house for ease of everyone being able to be there as i live closest to school and the school fields as they are big and we need space for Zoe to run without her face being seen . But we will need to do the filming in the school fields during a media lesson or during one of our free so there will be no one else on them as this will mess the content of the field scene up. This scene is meant to be scary and frightening for the character so with out people in it it wont be scary it will just be like a play ground at school which isnt scary but can be classed as a happy place . We will add special effects to this scence to make it look misty and observe. The scence where hannah is drawing will be quick flashes of what she is drawing and of her doing it this with be sped up in editing this quick flashing will add suspence and tension to the short film as the audience will be wondering what she is doing. We will also have fast suspence beating music over the top of our filming which will then speed up over the more action parts of the film of the scarier parts of the film .......

    prelimanary task

    so today we edited our film and its all running smoothly now i would say we are ready to show it the editing software we used to edit is called adobe premiere i personally found the software easy to use the software is made espeacially for schools .

    filming

    Soo today we were meant to be editing our footage but we had techinal diffculties with the footage that was uploaded so we decided to do another lesson of filming which was sort of pointless as we later found the footage from before so we uploaded it on to oour computers and in a next lesson we will be editing we now have a lot of footage but the mis-en-scence will not match so we can either use the footage from preivous or our footage we filmed today ..

    Filming !!

    so we had our first lesson of filming today
    i am in a group with :
    • Ana (Acting)
    • Hannah  (Acting)
    • Zoe (small part also directing)
    • And Me i filmed the whole scence
    we filmed in the main hall because it was a big open space which is good to film in we used the stage as our main place , we had ana sitting on the stage upset and hannah and zoe walking up towards her and then we filmed on the front of the stage this was a good place to film as we had the front of the stage as our 180 degree line so we couldnt cross it ! we filmed most of our scences today and will be working on editing next lesson if we need to film again we need to think about mis-en-scene within this we need to make sure our postioning is the same out enviroment is the same also our costumes are the same ...

    The second of a double lesson

    It was our first lesson with Mr Oswick since he came back of paternity leave and we done some key skills on taking notes so we watched Glee series 1 episode 1 and had to take notes on :
    • Names of the main characters and brief about who they are
    • Note on the plot
    • Representations of gender , disability, ethnicity and class
    • Themes of glee
    we done this exercise to see what our ability was like to take notes down while watching a clip as this is what we will have to do in our main exam !

    The first of a double lesson

    so today in miss martins lesson we were taking pictures of scene that we had to re-create using props that we had in the classroom. The scenario's we had were a disbrutive lesson, dentist waiting room, busy office and a romantic meal at a restaurant  the ones we found easier to do was the disbrutive classroom and the dentist waiting room as for the classroom it was good as we were in a class room we just had to mess the tables up and position ourselves so we looks disbrutive where as for the office and romantic meal it wasnt the prefect setting!

    Kidulthood The first ten mintues what we watched in media

    My first post :D

    soo thought i would post my first post :) i had media today we learnt key terms in filming in this we learnt different camrea shots which are :
    • Close-up
    • Meduim shot
    • Extreme close-up
    • Long shot
    • High angle shot
    • Low angle shot
    We also learnt different camera shots which are:
    • Panning
    • Tracking
    • Zooming
    Also the two different types of sound which is diegetic sound and non-diegestic sound the difference between these are non-diegestic sound is added into the film during editing where as diegestic film is in the film so e.g. birds in the background which the charater can hear.

    We also learnt about Mise-en-scene which basically means everything that is in a frame so colour,props,set,costumes and lighting these thing are all important in a film and nothing in a film is there by accident mise-en-scene is a broad term coving everything you see in a film.
